Heading to Vermont this summer!

Although we have been up to Vermont before, this show should be an absolute treat. The Landgrove Inn is located in the southern part of Vermont and is an absolutely beautiful setting for a weekend away.  The area is scenic and amazing.

Although the Landgrove Inn is known for weddings, art workshops and its 5 star restaurant, each time that comedy arrives, the night is purely magical.

McDonald and Carney plan on doing their Two Man improv act with some brand new games thrown in.  We are also bringing the legendary KP Burke (Jacksonville Comedy Festival) and the up and coming Adam Lucidi (Askholes webseries, NYC clubs) with us!

The show starts at 8:00pm and can easily be combined with a Dinner and Show price.  And let me promise you that the food is absolutely delicious!

If you would like to join us, the Inn is also advertising special rates for M&C fans that include lodging, show and dinner.

M&C rock Jefferson Twp High School!

McDonald and Carney had such a great time at Jefferson Twp High School this past week.  We were asked to return again this year to help raise funds for the JTHS Drama Club’s annual trip to see a Broadway Show.

We are so pleased to say that our second year performing for these students was even more enjoyable than the first time.  Joined by the talented Jackie Byrne, Big Rich and Joe played a whole lot of clever improv games and used student participation in every single one.  The students at Jefferson were itching to get on stage and play with us, and we could not have had more laughs. Each student who joined us on stage did a terrific job becoming such characters as Captain Jack Sparrow, Bernie Sanders, or interviewers at a press conference with Kim Kardashian.  The students were engaged and really a pleasure to play with.

We even broke out an oldie but goodie game of Story, Story, Pie, which ended up with two gracious students leaving the stage with their faces covered in whipped cream pie!

All we have to say is that we hope these kids have as much fun at the Broadway class trip as we all did last night.  Thank you Jefferson Twp High School!

McDonald & Carney RETURN

Well after a few months of laying low, it appears that McDonald and Carney are back on stage and doing what they love.

For those who do not know, Big Rich had shoulder surgery in January.  Unfortunately because Big Rich tells all of his jokes with his right arm, it was impossible to make people laugh with his arm in a sling.  But fear no more, because the Boys are back in town…with a vengeance!

McDonald and Carney are starting off on Thursday April 7 with a stand up show at Costa’s in Roselle Park.  Costa’s has set up a dinner and a show option with full buffet dinner, drinks and dessert.  This should be a great evening.

Then McDonald and Carney get to do what they do best and perform their critically acclaimed Two Man Act.  First comes Saturday April 9 at a fundraiser show for the AJS Clark High School Booster Club.

Then M&C get to perform for the Jefferson High School Drama Club on April 13.  At last year’s show, they were able to pack a crowd of 200 students and family members. We expect a fun time as always!

Next up would be the Meadowlands Comedy Festival.  This festival alsts over 5 nights at venues all around the Meadowlands area.  Big Rich performs on Friday night April 15. Joe performs on Saturday night, April 16. Both Rich and Joe perform stand up on their final show on Sunday April 17.

Have some fun and join us at one of these events. We can’t wait to see everybody again!

First SoHo show is a success!

Thankfully the first installment of the McDonald and Carney Comedy Hour at the SoHo Playhouse in NYC was a success!  In what will be a monthly showcase of comedic talent, McDonald & carney now have their own Comedy Hour just like Abbott & Costello and Martin & Lewis did.

The show is hosted and headlined by Rich McDonald & Joe Carney and will feature a variety of comedy acts.  In our first show on August 14, we were fortunate to be joined by stand-up comedians Adam Lucidi, Kevin Dombrowski, and Natty Bumpercar.  All three had great stand-up sets and really had the crowd laughing.

Joe and I started the show with street interviews of Joe’s characters Cowardly Lion, Christopher Walken, Tony Soprano, and Jackie Gleason.  After the stand up sets, Joe and I returned for a sketch and then some improv games.  Each game involved audience participation and was a lot of fun!

We are scheduled to do the show every month on the second Thursday at 8:00pm at the SoHo Playhouse.  Don’t be afraid to spread the word and lets have a blast moving forward!

McDonald & Carney perform in Finals at Tropicana!

Well, it was one hell of a whirlwind experience for McDonald and Carney.  We were accepted to compete in the Search for New Stars Talent Contest at the Tropicana in Atlantic City back in March.  First we had to do an initial audition in front of the GM of the Tropicana Comedy Stop and then we had the semi-finals.  Out of 12 competing acts, McDonald and Carney made the top 3 and were invited to the Finals on July 30.

Performing at the Tropicana was a milestone for Joe and I.  The McDonald and Carney duo was created because of our love of the old school duos like Martin and Lewis…Abbott and Costello.  Performing on a stage at the Tropicana, like those legends, was a dream come true.

Unfortunately we did not win the top prize.  We had a great turn-out of friends and family to support us.  We drew the last spot of the night and were happy with that spot.  We performed ‘Sound Effects’ and rocked the room as members of Gilligan’s Island in the Amazon.  We then did a quick version of our favorite game, ‘Love Letter’.  It was rushed but the audience really seemed to enjoy it.

We know that many people have never seem 2 man improv before, so just the experience of being able to showcase what we do best in front of another 200 people on that stage was worth it.  We know that we will be back in Atlantic City soon, and for a long time!

Thanks to everyone who supports us!!!
